Introduction
The DLL cleaner is a handy small tool for finding unused shared
component files. Unlike the name suggests, these files can also
in theory also be other than DLL files, such as EXE or OCX files.
The jv16 PowerTools doesn't by any mean attempt to recognize
which of your system files are unused because such detection
is not possible. The DLL cleaner works by gathering the information
about used component files from the registry.
Usage
You should always check the files the DLL cleaner finds, the
information which jv16 PowerTools reads from the registry can
in theory be wrong and the component file could be in use. But
in general, this tool is very safe to use and it's almost impossible
to do any harm if you also check out the files yourself before
you remove them. |
